NYC Selected Gallery Guide: September 2024

Word is we’re heading into a supercharged hurricane season that could yield six to ten storms driving up the coast, but nothing can stop artists from returning to the city to mount fresh exhibitions. Among forthcoming shows, I’m especially looking forward to Mike Cloud at Thomas Erben, Gaby Collins-Fernandez at Rachel Uffner, Rico Gatson at Miles McEnery, Suzanne Jackson at Ortuzar Projects, Dennis Kardon at Lubov, Michael Krebber at Greene Naftali, Adam Simon at Osmos, and Elena Sisto at Bookstein Projects. In Dumbo, Davide Cantoni is presenting an unusual solo of new double abstract paintings at Platform Project Space. Glenn Goldberg has curated “Daily Dreams,” a four-maestro show at Art Cake in Gowanus, featuring Arthur Cohen, Judy Glantzman, Tony Mascatello, and Tommy White. The listing is full of exceptional art, and there is a list of art fair locations at the end.
