Hudson Valley (+vicinity) Selected Gallery Guide: November 2024

Pamela Salisbury Gallery: Katie DeGroot, Tarantella, 2021, watercolor and opaque watercolor on paper, 51 x 72 inches

Contributed by Karlyn Benson / The days are growing darker and the leaves are falling, but it’s still a beautiful time of year for a trip upstate. The galleries in the area are offering a wide array of exhibitions, from “The Voracious Eye” at Opalka Gallery in Albany, to “Magicians, Musicians & Mystics” at 1053 Gallery in Fleischmanns, Robin Crookall, David Storey, Lizzie Scott, and Barbara Weissberger at Catskill Art Space in Livingston Manor, “All at Once” at SEPTEMBER in Kinderhook, Matthew Lusk at Elijah Wheat Showroom in Newburgh, “Materiality and The Print” at Furnace – Art on Paper Archive in Falls Village, CT, “SIGNALS: Danielle Tegeder” at Standard Space in Sharon, CT, and many more. Painter and sculptor James Holl has two solo shows opening this fall, one at the Athens Cultural Center, and another at The Lockwood Gallery in Kingston. This month I included artist talks, openings, and special events in the Guide. Saturday, November 2 is an especially busy day, with openings and artist talks throughout the region in Garrison, Kingston, Hudson, Livingston Manor, and Kent, CT.

It’s the third week of the Two Coats of Paint Year-end Fundraising Campaign: Please help us pay the internet bill! If you use and enjoy our Selected Gallery Guides, please consider making a small recurring contribution to support the compilation of monthly listings. Thank you for all your support.
