Hudson Valley (+vicinity) Selected Gallery Guide: June 2025

Kleinert/James Center for the Arts: Andrew Lyght, Linear 17148, 2021-22, Red Oak, plywood, paint stick, acrylic paint and pencil, 36 x 37 3/4 x 3 inches. Courtesy of the Artist and Anna Zorina Gallery

Contributed by Karlyn Benson / The Hudson Valley comes alive as spring turns to summer. The warmer months are full of openings, performances, and other special events both indoors and outside. In Beacon, Soon is Now, a climate and eco focused arts organization presents a month-long exhibition of the artist Koyoltzintli’s handmade ceramic instruments along with a video and sound installation. Performances on May 31 and June 1 will feature Koyoltzintli and others playing the instruments, including replicas of pre-Columbian artifacts. It’s the season for large-scale group exhibitions including “GENERAL CONDITIONS” at The School in Kinderhook, “So It Goes, 2025 Summer Exhibition” at the Wassaic Project, and “The Unknown and Its Poetics” at KinoSaito in Verplanck. On June 28, The Campus, an upstate outpost for Manhattan galleries Bortolami, James Cohan, kaufmann repetto, Anton Kern, Andrew Kreps, and kurimanzutto opens for the season with a sprawling exhibition in an abandoned school outside of Hudson.
